First, Massdrop has rebranded as “Drop” going forward. Questionable name, even outside of the context of knives.
However, the first thing I thought of was “what will they use to brand their blades”?
If the new Terzuola knife is any indication, they’ve heard the complaints about their billboarding, and have reduced their branding to a new “D” logo on the back side of the pivot.
So, not only have they moved away from branding the blade with anything other than the maker’s mark, but they knew far enough in advance of the change that they were able to create hardware with their new logo.
While the branding never really bothered me before, the new solution is much more aesthetically pleasing.
