I want take this opportunity to thank VERY much these great Traditional FORUM fellows.

A while ago I was extremely lucky enough to be able to buy a couple of really really hard to get knives, I was real thankful to this person ( of whom I would love to name -so please feel free to come in and identify yourself my friend :) ) that I was even able to buy these knives off him, here are the first two absolutely stunning knives - the third was his "throw in" - which Threw Me - I can tell you!!!
Wow!!! my friend a massive THANK YOU - thank you for your guidance and help with my complete lack of knowledge of the HJ knife - I have lots to learn about this pattern, and you have helped me so so much -ESPECIALLY with your amazing gift - I just am overwhelmed that you were able to part with these knives - let alone be so generous and gift me the third - as your asking price for the knives I bought was too cheap - but you would hear none of it!!!
Those who know - will know who this guy is ;)
The magnificent and ever Elusive HJ Pearl, the photo just does not do this stunning knife justice - man this is magnificent...( more to update in the HJ Thread )

The second Stunning HJ I was lucky enough to purchase was this drop-Dead gorgeous HJ, The Bone is just magnificent....

Ans now here is the third knife that was an extra passenger in my package - another very hard to come by Charlie SFO HJ, I just cannot even begin to thank you enough for your fantastic help and generosity, and for helping my HJ Collection come along nicely......
WOW......just WOW!!!!

Another chap I would like to thank is another Tradional Legend - the one and only Mr. Paul Hilborn, now Paul very kindly acts as my Post Master in the U.S.A, I on a fairly regular basis get knives sent to Pauls house - he collects them up and sends them through...one day there was an extra knife in my package??
Paul YET AGAIN ( as this is NOT the first time he has gifted me a knife or Knives ) sent me this beautiful 38, now I over the years have murdered lots of knives, but have steadily got better and better in managing to get a nice sharp blade AND of lately being able to maintain a scratch free blade..... well things changed pretty darned quickly - Paul threw me a curve ball with the 38 - now dont get me wrong here folks, I love this knife, and most would leave without their eyes if trying to take the knife from me - but sharpening the darned thing!!!!:eek:
I use this knife HARD!!, its my account knife - and we go hard in this workshop 4 out the 5 days a week and its used on every of the 100 cars a week that we paint.

So when the knife couldnt come back up to a razor edge after using the Ceramic Rod, I was now in the position of having to sharpen - dont get me wrong I LOVE to sharpen my knives, but I knew I was in for it - so I got out my stones,my Arkansas, My Diamond stones and very very carefully went about trying to figure out how to or not to...by the time I realised that using a 38 on a flat stone was not the thing to do, already I punished the knife, so I ordered a Diamond extra Fine Rod and use that in conjunction with my Ceramic rod - this equals a scalpel edge!!
So here is my battered but beautiful companion loved and used daily from my good mate Paul - Paul Sir, THANK YOU so so much, I owe you SO much, you are way to generous for your own good my friend....

Now the third person I would like VERY much to thank - simply surprised me way out of the Blue...just this Friday gone, I opened up a Kitchen Cutlery package - and a wee while after I saw another package sitting in my Postal box at work - I thought this was strange as I wasnt expecting any other knives - this one was from the U.S.A...so what was it, I st down at my desk....and lucky I did because what I found inside was absolutely amazing, markesharp ( Mark ) sent me the stunning HJ below :eek:
Mark my friend...I just dont know what to say!!!! you got me - thats for sure....... I am so so lucky and fortunate to be in this position of writing this thread to these amazing people.
Mark...I want to say thank you-THANK YOU so sincerely for this lovely addition-a MOST TREASURED addition to my hj collection, I look forward greatly to the upcoming years of seeing this beautiful knife amongst my others that I hold so dear to me.
Gentleman, and you are that - Gentleman I cannot thank you enough - be well and know that there is a Kiwi Bloke who is a very very happy one thinking of you guys.....here is Marks stunning gift to me.....
Schrade Walden HJ....just an amazing knife!!!!

Oh Man.....just look at that......

Those are absolutely stunning knives Duncan, graciously, and most generously, gifted to one of this forum's finest, your very good self :) Congratulations my friend

Duncan those knives are incredible, that Holyoke is a prize!! That's a very early tang stamp on that one. Your benefactors are just incredible folks (I do believe I know who that Harness Jack mystery person is hehe ;) ).

Most excellent post Duncan. Nobody is more deserving than yourself.
Kudos to the gifters.  :D

Very cool. I will repeat the oft mentioned sentiment. I love threads like these. These gentlemen couldn't have picked a better recipient. Kudos to all involved.

Amazing knives, all of them! But that Holyoke!!!!

All great knives, Duncan. Congratulations!! I go weak in the knees whenever I see one of those Holyoke Belt Co. Knives.

I found a Case Whaler here also had always wanted one since am nautically inclined. Thing that kills me the good ones go quick, have to watch it close which leads to more impulse buys and an angrier wife :)

Have not been blessed with a giveaway knife yet but keeping my luck up shall see

Great thing as the good ones retain value to can buy sell and trade and not lose much equity depending on how hard you used the knife, ,y dad collects Parker shotguns and takes same approach generally just floats the investment around unless finds one he does not ever want to part with

Duncan is one of the most deserving and enthusiastic gents on the porch!! I always love to bask in your prose! Over the top....all you involved!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

A curved-stamp Holyoke!! The gods and your friend Mark smile upon you, Duncan!!

And that fine collection of HJs! Zowie!!! That could only come from one place (not me; not directly anyway!). A fine gentleman sent you those!!:D

Oh man!! Just rolled out of bed :o

Thank you everyone who has commented so nicely - an absolutely amazing place, often when I see a give-away I dont enter because of THIS very reason, but I always try to go an and say a thank you-because I really mean it, the people who hold give-aways are just great and its just fantastic to see all the time - but to be a recipient like this - and not only this time....I just consider myself extremely lucky!!!
Thank you again to everyone.

Good morning Duncan!
Some time when you get a chance, please post that Holyoke in "Elusive Schrades".
Arched stamps are pretty rare!!

That will be a pleasure Charlie,
I am just going to update the HJ Thread, and I will also visit that Elusive Thread - if we can find it!
