I received the new Cold Sreei Master Hunter with stonewashed blade today. I have the coated one but felt it is a good deal for the money for a truck knife. Knife came sharp as a razor. Sheath is unchanged and underwhelming but not sure I want to spend $50 for a knife just barely over a hundred. I love Buy Brown but just can’t justify it

First I've seen of that model, good find. I'd be interested to see if it's the same thickness of the DLC coated models in 3V.

Does this 3V stonewashed MH have "Taiwan" on the ricasso?
Knifefcenter's site says "Italy" which seems very unlikely for this model.

Is this a Knife Center exclusive ? 'Cause I don't see it anywhere else .o_O

Description
CS36CB: 36CB Master Hunter
Cold Steel

We're proud to announce this version of the beloved Master Hunter. Retaining its classic lines and functional design but with the integration of some of the finest materials in the industry today. The 36CB Master Hunter features an extra broad stonewashed American CPM-3V high carbon steel blade and is honed by hand to razor sharpness that has to be felt to be believed. The Master Hunter's curved cutting edge slices effortlessly through even the toughest hide, while its stout but sharp drop point makes field dressing and skinning a breeze. The spine of the blade is a full 0.19" thick to allow for the necessary strength and stiffness to field dress and skin even the biggest animals.

The grip is specially designed to promote long use without fatigue. Made of the shock absorbent Kray-Ex, and featuring a deeply checkered surface, it won't slip no matter how cold, wet or bloody your hands get, and it will give you a positive and secure purchase on your blade even when wearing thick gloves. Plus, Kray-Ex has specially enduring advantages for a hunter, in that it will never rot, shrink, crack, splinter or mildew, and is completely impervious to even the harshest weather.

For safety, the Master Hunter comes in an adaptable and versatile Secure-Ex sheath that will accommodate just about any belt, pack or rig. the perfect companion for a dedicated hunter who deserves the very best—the Master Hunter

I have had one for over a month. I can confirm that they have a very well done distal taper. Fit and finish is nice, I have not had a chance to use it much yet so I can report on edge holding and sharpening. I look forward to seeing how it compares to the Carbon V version with the same taper. The sheath I swapped for an older cordura sheath because I am not a fan of SecureEx.

Pretty surprising, but this 3V stonewashed MH has "Italy" written on the right side of the blade.

Yep, Italian made. I snagged one off an eBay retailer for (edit: lower than others). Haven't seen it that low before or since. Seems like a real nice knife, I wonder how long they will make them for.

If you look at the USD-Euro exchange rate for the last 10 years, my guess is that CS contracted during the last 2 years when the Euro was cheap. But as has always been the case with knife imports, if the Euro strengthens against the USD in the future the contract may not be renewed. That's what happened in 2005 when CS had to switch from Seki Japan manufacture to Taiwan. This Italian made MH may well become a collectors item. Just my 2 cents.

Does someone have both the Taiwan made and Italian made 3V master hunter?
Do you notice differences in the hardness or edge retention between the two knives?
