Master Mechanic version of PowerLock

One of the True Value hardware stores near me sells a Master Mechanic brand version of SOG's PowerLock multitool with a leather holster in a plastic blister package for $60. The tool actually says Master Mechanic on the handle.

My questions are:

1) Is this tool identical to the S60 (e.g., same blades, etc.)?

2) Will SOG perform the same free warranty work on this tool as it does for the SOG branded S60?

Thanks.

To answer your questions, yes and yes. We made a version of the PowerLock for Master Mechanic and like all of our products we will stand behind it. So should you buy it and in the rare chance you have some problems we would be happy to fix it.

I have a CrossGrip, an original Leatherman tool, an older Leatherman SuperTool, a Schrade ST2 Tough Chip, a Schrade Tough Tool, a Sears Craftsman (Schrade-made) multitool, and a palm-pinching blood blister raising Gerber.

Today, I went ahead and bought the Master Mechanic/SOG S-60 PowerLock multitool from the hardware store. Compared with my other tools, I'm very impressed with the PowerLock's fit and finish, the brown leather holster, and how easily the pliers and individual blades open. I think I'm going to like this tool!

I gave my original Leatherman and my Gerber away when I got my TiNi Powerlock.
They have since been joined by these...:D
