i just picked up a 119 marked master series bg42 on rev. tang. Marked buck 119ms(98)on the fore tang.green handle, not checkered.no shield.
questions,1)is this a part of the "overrun" i
read about some where? 2)what was sugg list if known on this version? 3)is handle made from the same diamondwood?
i also have a 532 with exact same markings
but with 2000 cert of ltd edition and walnut
handles.

thanks in advance for any info

Hi Guy,
Your 119 sure does sound like an over run but that is OK...virtually the same knife. As a matter of fact you should consider yourself luck since you won't be afraid to use it. When I had my 119ms I couldn't bear to use it so I sold it.

The list price for the MS model was up there...maybe $120 or so...I honestly can not remember. You can find them on Ebay going for about $100 or so (the Master series). Not sure what the overrun prices were....in some ways I feel they are even prettier than the MS knives.

I have the 532 and the 501 in Master Series and I really love both knives. In fact, the 532 series is about my favorite.

Enjoy your knife!

That 119 was a steal for a person who wanted a great knife, with great steel, to be used to cut things. Like Greg said, it was easier to use. I think it is because it was called something less glamorous than "limited Edition". I know i would have an easier time messing up an "overrun".

I got an overrun Vanguard, and that is one of the sweetest knives I own, including the customs that I have.

thanks everyone, i've been carrying it since i bought it.you're right about using it. i like joe's idea that if youi're gonna spend
a 100$ on a knife ,might as well use it.
