The pivot screw is missing. Blade won't open. Anyone know what could be causing it to hang up? Thanks.IMG_0783.JPG

The position of the blade could have shifted slightly from where the pivot held it, and now it's jammed in place by the button lock. Try moving the blade around with the button pressed down. But you'll probably have to take it apart.

Try spraying a good penetrating oil in the pivot hole. Also spray between the frame and blade, around the button lock.

Let it sit for awhile before trying to move it. If it moves but nothing happens, spray some more, into the parts that move.

As was said, you might have to take it apart. Do your best to not lose any parts, MOD is no longer in business.

Without the pivot screw thats not a a tool I would use. Do you have the pivot screw? You can get pivot screws from several sources. The trick is figuring out what the thread spec is. If you have digital calipers or are very good with analog calipers. I would measure the inside diameter of the threaded hole, That will give you the minor diameter for the thread. Then you can look that up and close in on the size. It will not be exact as small holes are hard to measure. If you have loads of little loose knife screws laying around see what works. It's probably metric and many of the asian knives use 2.5 X 45 threads. Meaning 2.5mm nominal diameter and 45 threads per unit/inch? The pivot threads may be stripped in which case you can retap the treads or just get another knife. There are so many good alternatives for small money. If thats a challenge I understand, then disassemble measure components and buy parts. I doubt that is necessary, if you can secure the pivot all should be OK. One thing I do with crappy pivots is wrap them in 600 Grit sand paper and roll the pivot using the tool is was designed for . Maybe a T8 it often is. In the pictures it looks like the pivot is cocked to the side.
Once you have that sorted take is apart and clean throughly with isopropyl alcohol, then lubricate with oil if it rolls on bearings or grease of it rolls on bushings.

Thanks a lot. Seems a little detailed for me to get into now. Planning to sell it anyway so I think I'll leave it to the buyer to figure out.:)
