Howdy ya'll,
I got to do the MS knife for 2008. The knife will be in the ABS auction at the Blade Show. It is my interpretation of a Tillotson, one of the Sheffield cutlers.
The blade is 8" and measures 12 7/8" overall. The handle frame is nickel silver with pearl scales. The 'reclining lion' bolsters are cast nickel silver and were given to me by Alex Daniels.
I did a tip and throat sheath with it to round out the package.
Chuck Ward did a great job on the photography.

It's a stunning piece - I look forward to seeing it up close at the show. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Awesome Bowie.
Great work.
The belly of the blade and the raised clip do it for me.
The rest is icing.
Outstanding image.

Super sweet! Love the Sheffield style pieces. Yours seems to have captured the "flavor" very well indeed.

That is freakishly clean
an outstanding example of the craft Congratulations

YAY one thousand posts..KumbaFrikkinYAH!!!

I love the sweeping curve of the blade's edge most of all. No straight lines there.
As to the rest, there's nothing I can say beyond what's been said, except:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

A terrific piece of work, John! Thanks also for the details on the piece.

You all probably figured this out already, but Chuck's image of this knife can be see at it's full resolution by opening the link, expanding your browser window to full screen and then (PC) press the F11 key to get rid of the Browser info and tool bar at the top of the screen and finally, move the pointer over the image. The arrow should morph into a magnification "+" icon. Click and the image will expand to it's full size. At that point most folks will still have to scroll up and down a bit to look at all of it. The image is over 10 inches tall! But at full resolution John's work on this blade and sheath really begins to show. I'm positive it is even more impressive in person than any photograph could reveal.

John, am I correct in thinking this will also be submitted for judging in the Best Bowie category, sponsored by the American Bowie Knife Association?

I'm guessing bidding will start at $1,000 minimum?
