Does anyone know where this handle material can be purchased in the US? All I want are some blocks and scales, not a half log, as I've found on one site. Actually that site is the only one in the US, that I could find, that even had any. Is there another name for the stuff? Thanks.

That is the sound of inevitability.

Masur Birch is a kind of deformation in the birch wood . The pattern is somewhat like burl but much more "patterns" .I have some more "deeper" info about the masur birch somewhere , if i can find it maybe I will post some more about it . Here is one of my knifes with dyed masur burch , (a small woodworkers knife with "wild" damascus blade , sorry for the quality of the picture)
