Does anyone have a source for curly birch or as it's sometimes called masur? I found an overseas site, but my Swedish is a little rusty. I don't want a log or a board, just some scales and blanks. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

You might be able to get some from James Poplin. He sometimes has it in stock.

These guys don't advertise it, but they specialize in fancy domestic woods, so they may have it or be able to get it on request. I can vouch for them as far as the one order of fancy burl pieces I got from them, Beautiful stuff, and I got 20 to 30 blocks from a $50 box. http://www.ca-walnutdesigns.com/burl.htm

If you want to import it from Denmark or Sweden yourself I'll email you an adress, but I'm not sure its worth the trouble. A piece of first class masur will cost you $11,5 . That a piece for one knife, and you'll also have to pay for the shipment.
