Match Safe?

I'd like to add a match safe to my EDC, preferably a metal one. Have seen very little listed here about these. Anybody carry one? Any recomendations?

I have an Exotac match safe in orange. And I am absolutely thrilled with it. Very high quality, smooth as silk threads, o rings, strike plate for "on the box" matches and a strike surface on the bottom for "strike anywhere". I own several match safes and the Exotac one is by far my favorite.

They now make a larger version.

And if you like ferro rods, their nanostrikers are phenomenal. Also have an xl model of that now too.

Silva used to make a match case (#346) with a compass in the lid. You might be able to find one on the net. Exotac makes a nice case, but it has no compass.

Another recommendation for K&M Matchsafe. A great product made by great people. A true mom n' pop operation that really cares about quality and service. Good prices, too.

I'd take plastic over metal. Lighter, corrosion resistant, and seals better than metal ones.

K&M used to make the Silva model. They're no longer in contract. And yeah, another +1 for the K&M! Small business run out of the family's garage, making top of the line equipment one at a time! You won't be disappointed.

Just spoke with Keith - a real gentleman! - and ordered a K&M, brass model. OK, I confess an attraction to the "cool factor" of this item. It is also gratifying to know that I am buying something from an American craftsman who obviously takes great pride in his work.

Thanks to all for the advice.

I have two of K&Ms, I keep a Brass one in my Fatboy and an Aluminum one in my Jeep.

I picked up a Coleman plastic orange match safe for ~$1 at Wal-Mart. Hard to go wrong there and, it included matches too!

I've got a K & M and a few Colemans also. You can pick up the Coleman at wally world for a buck. Make sure to get the orange one, it's a little bit bigger than the OD green, it's also great for holding batteries, fire starter, etc. The K & M is a solid bit of kit, the compass is a plus, it's long enough for REI matches. It is a bit heavy though.
