Over the last few years I've accepted but a few custom orders and then only when the project really captured my interest. This one however was too fascinating & unique to ignore. The man asked me to make a damascus Bowie and a D-guard fighter that would fit into the same sheath with a matching small dagger/boot knife and the sheath for it to be sandwiched on top of the Bowie/fighter sheath. (The photo is a little deceptive but the two larger knives have the same dimension blades & OAL.)

He designated that he wanted the Bowie & fighter to have a 10" x 1 1/2" blade and the dagger 4 3/4". He picked out the same damascus pattern for all three ( random pattern with a center bar of 1084 edged with pieces of 15N20) and stipulated that he wanted walnut for the handles.

[Unfortunately the sheath is still at my sheathmaker's and the customer will be picking up the set before I will be able to get any photos of the sheath with the knives.]

Let me know what you think.

NICE! I like a good looking D-guard Bowie.
Look forward to pics of the sheath and the knives in it.

Thanks everyone. The customer was excited enough to drive from Iowa just to pick them up.

I've always enjoyed doing something like this for the first time. It's a good way to push you to expand your skills in one way or another. :) I've already started another first time project.

Thanks, Bill. They didn't come with a beautiful box like yours do but I had fun making them anyway.
