Over the last few years I've accepted but a few custom orders and then only when the project really captured my interest. This one however was too fascinating & unique to ignore. The man asked me to make a damascus Bowie and a D-guard fighter that would fit into the same sheath with a matching small dagger/boot knife and the sheath for it to be sandwiched on top of the Bowie/fighter sheath. (The photo is a little deceptive but the two larger knives have the same dimension blades & OAL.)
He designated that he wanted the Bowie & fighter to have a 10" x 1 1/2" blade and the dagger 4 3/4". He picked out the same damascus pattern for all three ( random pattern with a center bar of 1084 edged with pieces of 15N20) and stipulated that he wanted walnut for the handles.
[Unfortunately the sheath is still at my sheathmaker's and the customer will be picking up the set before I will be able to get any photos of the sheath with the knives.]
Let me know what you think.
