I`ve always liked the idea of a "matched set" of tools, here are three of them.

Some matched sets

I hadn't though of that, but now that I have my recently-received osage orange blue gill from you, it WILL go perfectly with my osage orange ViKtim! Thanks again! (I didn't realize you were still making ViKtims - but I'd better stop at three . . . but I may need another bluegill or two).

My Osage orange set. Two big knives, a little knife, and a folder. The Personal Camp and the Bluegill get carried together the most.

Personal Camp is one of my favorite designs, but not too many have been made.

I thought the Kephart would replace it as most used, but it hasn't. I love the Kep, but the PK is my BBQ knife. Cut up ribs and a pork butt yesterday. The meat has given it a greyish blue patina that looks really cool. Next time I cook, I may have to do a thread about it. It splits wood, trims meat, dices veggies, etc. I just love it.
Sorry about the thread hijack. :)

ETA: Thanks, Jeff!

A little late to the party, but sure happy to join.

These three will be gifts come Christmas time. The kephart is mine and the two Nessmuks are for my stepdad and grandpa.

The wood for the handles was cut from the heart wood of the base of a big Oak tree that was logged during last winter on my grandpa's hunting club. The loggers made a big mess and screwed up a lot of hunters last year, so I thought these knives would make a good reminder of that frustrating winter.

Personally, I think everyone should have a knife made with locally sourced wood that carries a memory with it. It makes a great knife that much more special.

I had their initials stamped into the Nessmuks to give them a more personal touch.

And heres my other matching set.

A Mud Turtle and a fork. The handle is a bit darker on the Mud Turtle because it gets used pretty regular around my property. Its my 'go-to' woods knife.

I also had John stamp a " MT " on the blade so if anyone asks, 'What kind of knife is that?" I can reply, 'Its a JK Mud Turtle! See here.' :p
