On another forum which shall remain nameless......there was a discussion about matchsafes.....included in one of the posts was a picture of someone's grandfathers matchsasafe from the EVERDRY company. I have one that was my dad's. I'm pushing 50 and I have 2 things left of his as an outdoorsman...(my dad died when I was 14). The EVERDRY matchsafe and a red-checked Pendletn wool shirt....
Anyone else have an EVERDRY?
Thanks,
Steve

I do, I am pretty sure that my grandpa gave it to when I started Boy Scouts about 10 or 15 years ago. It says "EVERDRY, Park Sherman Co. Springfield ILL." on the bottom and has a pink rubber gasket in the lid. When I first got it it was filled with awesome strike anywhere matches, they were about twice as thick and half again as long as the ones sold now, unfortionately I used all but one of them. I also have a couple of the old style Marbles matchsafes, but I think the EVERDRY is actually easier to open and close.
