As the last member of the "Mate" family I found the Kraton Skinner at eBay.
And I think the family is complete now. The top one is with the green handle
already a step child. Or do you know a missing child from the Mates?

Haebbie

Hi Herbert,

That is a very cool collection set you have there! Thanks for sharing the photo.

I may be wrong, but i think i have seen another member of that family. The "caper", 113 or 116?? Nice looking set.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Thanks a lot, W.W. for the informations.
Now I know for what I have to look for.

The 619 and 639 were also available in blaze orange, bright green, brick red and light gray (same as the 610) Kraton in very limited sample quantities. I have these versions in my collection but not all colors in both model numbers.

I have a catalog from 1987 and it lists six--all the ones Habbie shows in his photo except the 2nd one down and I think that one was the FieldMate II model 639. Whereas his first one is the Field Mate 639 OD . The ones Joe and Richard mention are merely a handle/color variation . A very nice and rare (hard to come by)collection . Good work . DM

By 94 only 2 appeared in the catalog, the 619 & 603 . So, they came in 86 and were gone by 96 . A good set . DM

I never saw the "Mates" in another color than in camo green or black.
More Items to search.

Thanks for the information.

Thanks, David, for your mails. The second one from the top, isn't that the
TrailMate? The Names of the Mates are hard to learn. Next time I make a
sheet with the numbers and the pictures and put it under the pillow. Or is it
better to publish it here in the BF? :D ;) :)

I was sent a catalog page w/ a 307 on it and the page also showed that knife with name and model # on it as I stated for you . Do you have some material that names it as something else ? DM

David, no question, you a re correct and I wrote nonsense.
I don't know wherefrom I got the opinion that the FieldMate without
saw ist called TrailMate. As everybody knows and as it is written
some posts earlier, TrailMate is the name of the 602. Pleas excuse
my fault. But nevertheless just now I'm searching for a FieldMate
with saw and black handle.

Best,
Haebbie
