I received the knives this afternoon...as expected the fit and finish are perfert. Nice work Mr. Koster! I plan on chopping several onions for onion soup and a cantalope Friday. My wife is left handed so she is excited about trying out the left handed knife. The picture I posted tonight is of the two Maters with my other 3 Koster knives (bushcraft, Nessmuk and Santoku). I will continue the review Friday...

Cool! Thanks, and we look forward to your review.

Finally I have some time to sit down and write...:o

Lets start off with... These are great kitchen knives! They are thin and sharp! They were lite enough for my wife to use every time she needed to cut some veggies. She normally avoids the heavier chef knives. I like the RT handed one for myself. I cut up several large onions and potatoes and found the knife to be a better cutter of thicker vegtables than my Koster Santoku... only for the fact the thinly cut onions seemed to lay down better when cut with the Mater. The slices seemed to stick more to the Santoku. My fater-in-law was up visiting and I asked him to try out the left handed knife as he cuts withs his left hand. He didn't belive me when I told him I had a left handed knife for him to try out. He is 71 and had never heard of one! He enjoyed cutting up several onions with me and had the same opinion I did about the sticking slices. My wife cut up a lot of fruit for the kids and thought they cut great. She is left handed but cuts with her right. She prefered the RT handed model also. I did try and cut up a cantalope and it was a bit difficult to make the initial cut-in-half due to the shortness of the blade and the thinness of the spine. Melons, in my oponion, are better suited to a larger heavier knive. In conclusion, this is a great knife to have in the kitchen. I think you have a winner!

I will mail the knives off in the morning!

Dan, thanks for the opportunity!
