jigged bone ??
What is jigged ? is it like being disguntled ? what exactly is a gruntle anyway ???????

I figured somebody way smarter than me (not a difficult standard to meet, BTW) would have already answered this question long ago, but since that apparently isn't the case, allow me to speculate that "jigged" simply refers to the process by which those somewhat randomly placed shallow grooves are machined into the surface of the bone. The grooves give the handle material sort a traditional stag handle look which may well be the reason for the treatment.
