Ok so question for y'all…

Not sure necessarily where to post this, so if it needs to be someplace else, so be it.

I’m not gonna bore y’all with the backstory, so here’s the question:
How much is aluminum billet worth? (already machined, far from scrap)

Im not interested in bs, sarcasm, or condescension. If you tell me that people don’t make knives from aluminum, I’ll tell you that forges are used for more than knives.

I am NOT playing one vendor/retailer against another.
I am NOT buying/selling, per se.
I AM looking for reasons not to sell my truck because my wife is tired of my “lawn sculpture”

I appreciate all the ammo I can get…

Good afternoon friend. You may find that in this section of bladeforums, you probably don't have to default to defensive mode. Here you go, best I can offer:

Aluminum bar stock, drop cuts from bigger pieces, goes for $3-$6/lb typically in Connecticut. But this is bar that is useable for other functions. If it's a lawn sculpture, it may be less due to scrap costs.

I AM confused by your post.
I UNDERSTAND you want Al pricing.
I DON'T understand what your truck has to do with Al.
I'm NOT being condescending, sarcastic, or giving you bs.
It really depends on how much you have, size/shape, and grade. In reality, I doubt you'll get more than scrap, about $0.55/LB.
Is your TRUCK made of Al?

You might want to bore us with the back story, because I'm really not understanding the question you're trying to ask.

You're asking how much a billet of machined aluminum is worth? It depends on what it's machined into. Are you asking what a scrap yard would pay for it? In that case, they don't care what it is, just how much it weighs and if it it's mixed materials or "clean".
