Yo there,

I got a Matriarch1 sitting in my stash and i was wondering if i could put its blade on an Endura4.
Any of you tried to disassemble such similar frn handled knives ? If so could you tell me about the pivot pin diameter and the size of the lock notch ?
I dont feel confident to blind test this because of the pinned construction on that older Matri‘

Thanx

I can promise you it won't work. The pivot pin is smaller on the pinned knife, so you'd have to drill out the pivot hole on the blade tang of the Matriarch to fit the pivot of the Endura 4. The same would apply to the lockbar pivot, which would weaken it severely.

Damn thats sad, i really wanted to do so, the reason behind that is the Matri‘s handle is quite worn a lot around the ‘ clip bed ‘ ,so the clip has tons of lateral play to the point i have to carry lose in pocket, negating the fast draw/opening.
I know the Matri2 is released, but buying any spydie is a no go for my wallet for the moment (Southfork ordered and a Tuff will follow right after).
I guess i‘ll just epoxy the hell out of it and buy a Lil‘matri in a few months.

It might work on a Pacific Salt handle (if you happen to be in possession of one of those). You'd just have to make a cutout in the backspacer to fit the tip of the Matriarch.

If it was one of the older ones, from before the switch to screw construction, it could work. Assuming he has the tools, materials and skills to re-pin the blade, and an old Pacific Salt or Endura available.

I dont own any salts to make the swap, i tend to stay away from full frn handle, i dont like the weight nor the springiness, also the clip anchoring never really lasted long on the 2 i have.
Im gonna epoxyfy the bed even if it sounds awful.

If you have a soldering iron, you could soften some of the FRN around the clip bed and reposition it to snug up the clip. Not going to be pretty, but it should work and at least make the knife serviceable.
