Since the matriarch 2 uses the Endura 4's handle, could one get the matriarch and switch out an enduras more colorful handle??? Just a thought.

I don't see why it wouldn't work but you might run into a problem with the backspacer.

Maybe. And even in case it's not possible to change the whole handle because the backspacer is different, you should still be able to just change the scales, so that you have, let's say bright green scales and black backspacer, that'd be kinda cool . I'm not 100 % sure though.

Oh ok, that's what I mean by "handle", I'm just interested in swapping scales. A brown Matriarch2 sounds right up my alley.

Yeah, like I said, if you only change the scales, the black backspacer will be visible on the back of the knife handle, but that might very well look kinda neat with black on brown. If you want the whole handle to be brown all over (except for the metal parts), you'll have to move over the brown backspacer from the Endura, which might work, but I'm not sure (just making sure we're on the same page :) ). I'm sure someone more knowledgable will chime in on this.

If you do this, your Matriarch will say Endura on its handle and your Endura will say Matriarch on its handle. Disassembling and swapping parts will void the warranties on both knives. As long as you can live with those things, and you keep all the metal parts of each knife together, swapping the scales and backspacers should work just fine.

Blast it, I don't think my OCD would let me live like that. Thank you for all of the help! Maybe it's not to late to score a brown Matriarch sprint on the exchange :D

Sorry to necro this thread, but has anyone done this since?

Wanting to buy a Matriarch 2, and change the scales to a more colorful pair.

It was mentioned that to fit the blade in the handle the handle was redesigned a bit. Mainly to prevent the tip of the blade from smacking into the back spacer. I would imagine the lockbar gemoetry is different as well.
