matsato knives

Cedric and Ada did a funny review of Matsato/Huusk knives, and didn't have a good opinion as I recall. Part of the video showed him whacking the Matsato blade against a Cold Steel GI Tanto. The GI Tanto cut deeply into the Matsato blade, leaving a minor nick in the GI Tanto's blade.

And that's saying something, since the GI Tanto is 1055 steel.
I seem to remember that the Huusk was promoted as being 18-8, an austenitic steel suitable for forks and spoons but not for cutting tools.

I was gifted a Huusk knife by a well meaning friend. It was garbage. I keep it in the garage so that I can bring it out and put it on the kitchen counter if my friend visits.

I note that the Matsako and Huusk knife designs are identical. The two web sites have the identical promo pictures and identical wording.

I remember a lot of advertising for Huusk knives a few years ago. Looks like they milked that one dry so are starting up the scheme again under a new name.

Hey, if you don't ask, you don't know. For what it's worth, my kind and ever loving wife saw these advertised somewhere and decided she wanted one. Shame on me for not granting that wish, but once I started looking into them, I thought yikes, followed by, no. No way. Pot metal.
