Hey guys! first let me start by saying this is not a post about confrontation LOL. I just came up to the existence of the Cucchiara MId Tech El Dorado and being so similar (clean lines, etc) to the Sebenza I tried to do some google research about comparisons and came with nothing. I'm impressed about the fact that the Cucchiara is more than 100$ less. I'm just looking for education about how could this be? both seem very smooth (I have a 25 and have had a 21) and great F&F.
Thanks for any insight/comparisons
I'm curious about this Mid Tech!

Cheers

Not sure about his mid techs but Matt is awesome to deal with.

I own both of them so hopefully that will help. Truthfully, there's no point of comparison between them other than they're both titanium framelocks with stonewashed blades. They definitely are both very smooth, although the Cucchiara opens so quickly that you really don't notice it until you go to close it. The Sebenza wins out on fit and finish if you really nitpick, after scotchbriting the scales on my El Dorado there was some pitting in the titanium that the bead blast had masked. Otherwise it's perfectly centered, lockup is great, etc. Luckily both are ground to a very thin edge so they both function quite well as knives, although there is the recurve which is either a blessing or a curse (depending on perspective).

Overall, I much prefer the Sebenza because it's a thinner, more pocketable package. The El Dorado definitely has the cool factor, especially when you get it modified. Speaking of which, if you're interested in a modified El Dorado, mine may be available soon...
