This is an impressive piece

Matt had a goal when he started this prototype

It was to pack as much steel as he could in a concealable KWAIKEN type blade

Admittedly it is a bit large for a KWAIKEN ....... Maybe more Aikuichi in nature

Either way this modern adaptation of a Japanese style blade has jacked up Sori and it is a wicked little slicer :)

He purposely designed the handle on the small side as to facilitate carry etc

He did a great job on every aspect of this Proto and I look forward to seeing where he is going with this.

Great stuff Matt

I like the ominous music in the video! :D Very cool how that large blade disappears with that carry style, like a magic trick.

Can't believe how quickly you manage to put these videos together, man, especially considering how good they look and sound! Heck, I'm sending ALL my knives to you for photo coverage!!!!! :D

Thanks for taking the time to do this, bud. Glad to see the blade works and deploys the way it does. There's a handful of things I want to do differently on the next one, but it's great to know I have you putting the first through its paces. The steel, as I mentioned in my thread, is a new one to me, and I've got quite a bit of testing to do before I'll know where it's limits are.

Thanks, my friend.:thumbup::)

nice job matt ! great video as always, joe. i thought for sure you were going to iaido that first cut ;)

Sweet blade Matt,

Nice Video Joe.

Great Video Review, Joe

Great Piece. Is that the Same one you had at the NYCKS?

That's a nice blade! I like how it's made in a modern powder tool steel over A2 or even simpler steels like W2. Thanks for sharing Joe, Great work Matt !

Great video clearly demonstrating the undeniably superior aspects of your preferred static cord sheath carry and deployment.

Have shown your videos to some of the "greats" of knife fighting over the last two years, and few have any issue with your form or explanations.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
