I recently purchased one of Matt's knives. Excellent work and an extraordinary value. The handle in particular is one of the most comfortable I have ever held. Check out his work.

Matt's knives are great! And sharp, too. I still have part of my index finger downstairs in my shop as I type this note. Never rub your finger along a Lamey bevel if you value that digit.

I just got a knife from Matt yesterday; it's awesome! I ordered one of his knives without ever having seen one, just based on things I'd heard on this forum, then when I actually saw the picture of this one, I had to order it, too! I hadn't expected his knives to look this good!

I'll just paste my e-mail to Matt below so I don't have to type the same thing twice.

Hello Matt,

As it turns out, my wife did pick up the knife from the post office yesterday! So when I got home I had a really nice "surprise" waiting for me. I've got to tell you, Matt, that knife is awesome! Even my wife liked it. She said it was creative, and she's never complimented any of my knives before. I'm going to have to ask you for tips on handle construction; the handle on this knife is fabulous. Not only is the wood pretty, the ergonomics are fantastic! I have no idea how you got those contours; all I've been able to manage on the kit knives I've made so far is a flat slab with rounded edges, which by comparison looks and feels like a brick in my hand. The handle is just a tad on the small size for me, but still fits my hand very well and gives me a secure grip, because of the contours, and it fits my wife perfectly, too. Your grind is just about perfect; the shoulders are even and the blade centered (I've seen knives costing a lot more where this was not the case.) It also cuts really well, although I haven't done much with it, since I got home late last night. I think this is a perfect using knife.

I'm looking forward to that second knife more than ever now.

Thanks,

Ryan

BTW, I should also mention that Matt's a fantastic guy to deal with. We've probably exchanged about 30 e-mails back and forth on the custom order I have with him (the one above was bought from his stock), and he's offered to help me in my own knifemaking efforts, which I really appreciated.

Ryan,
I really love that knife. Matt sent me a that pic as a teaser and I looked at it quite a bit. I figured that handle would be really comfortable, it looks like it would. I'm going to have to get Matt to make me something before he gets too busy.

Me:"Uuh....yeah, something like that."

Matt really has come a long way in a short time. Like I said, I have 2 Lamey knives and love both. I even did a review with pics. See the review HERE

For what you pay, you get an incredible tool that will last a lifetime.

Thanks to all. I hope i can continue to work with you on anything you may want in the future.

For anyone needing a very simple "home made" brochure, drop me an email with your address. It has all the basics on my knives covered.

Thanks Again,

Matt.
