Hi all, I thought that I would share a Bowie that Matt Lamey recently made for me. It's W2 and Walnut, overall length approx. 15.75 inches, blade length to guard 10.25 inches and blade width 2 inches. Paul Long was kind enough to work his magic, as only he can do, with the sheath. Black body and brown alligator insert.

I apologize for such poor photos. Even if I had a better camera and skill level, I would still not be able to do this pair justice. I'd wait to post this until I had better pics, but I'm excited and wanted to publicly thank Matt for making me such an awesome Bowie! And much thanks goes out to Paul Long who graciously helped me with all my questions and made one beautiful sheath. Again, sorry for such poor photos.

other than a very busy background, the photos are fine. they show the knife and the important aspects thereof. Rather than crossing the sheath with the knife, look to see how some of the other photographers handle this part of the presentations. Nice looking knife and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Two artists whose work certainly "works" together!
Matt builds a hell of a knife - lovely wood and hamon.
What hasn't already been said about Paul's work.

I think the pics are just fine! Glad to see that Bowie in some of Pauls leather. Will be working on your Stag Bowie soon too. THANKS for the pics/post!

Sweet bowie - and I'm really liking that dark brown / black colour scheme on the sheath. I'll have to remember that for some future project. Congrats!

Murray White---Thank you for your recommendations about the pics and the sheath set up. The best light was outside, hence the cluttered background. I'll keep that in mind next time. Thanks again for the comments.

Michael Starr---Thanks for the kind words. I agree, Matt makes one mean knife and Paul Long's work is amazing. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Camoninja---I'm gonna use this one. It's a beauty and worthy of being a "safe queen" however, I planned on using this one. Thanks.

Matt---Thanks! I'm glad you like the photos, just wanted to show this one with Paul Long's sheath. I really am enjoying this blade, Thank you so much for this opportunity! The Stag Bowie is going to be AWESOME, I can't wait to see what you come up with. I keep telling myself "Be patient! Be patient!"

RogerP---Thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment! The color combo works great in my eyes with this Bowie. After a little discussion with Mr. Long, I settled on this color combo. All the credit goes to Paul Long for outstanding execution and attention to detail. It was an honor to work with Mr. Long, as this was my first sheath from him. I have seen his work for over 15 yrs (including some pictures from your collection Roger!) so it was a real pleasure to actually get a sheath made from him.

Thank you all for the kind words and taking the time to view.

If this was your first Paul Long sheath, I feel safe in predicting it won't be your last. I also really like that lighter-toned walnut that Matt used for the handle. Really nice package overall.

Very nice!

I have never seen any work from either of these men that I did not like!

That knife and sheath got together like peanut butter and jelly.
Excellent work all around.

Wicked looking hamon on this baby and Pauls sheath really compliments it ! Congrats!!

Hahaha!!! That made me laugh! I appreciate the comment, thanks.

RogerP---I believe you may be clairvoyant!! Yes Sir, I'm already planning my next Paul Long sheath for the Stag Bowie Matt is making for me. After seeing such amazing collections from people such as yourself and JParanee, I've been motivated!!!

Thank you all for checking this combo out and for the kind responses. I'm glad to see that we all share a common love.
