Hello,
I bought this out of curiosity and can't find anyone that knows anything about it, saw it, or found in search. So, here I am. It is 10.5" long and 8.5" across. I would love to know what this is used for and/or called?
Thank you.

I am certainly no expert here and I am going from my memories as a child 60 or so years ago which are akin to a copy machine that is low on toner. My grandmother still had her "icebox" in her kitchen when I was a kid and there was something similar to that in a drawer next to the icebox. The only time I ever saw her use the little ice hatchet was to get a chip or two off the big block of ice to cool some lemonade. Someone that knows what it really is and it's proper name will be along, so don't count on my fading memories of days gone by for the definitive answer.

Well, I can still remember my parents' ice box in the basement, but I have no recollection of ever using it except for storage. I would never have thought ice axe? So, this would be called an ice axe with pick? Certainly interesting. Thank you, all, for your input.

It'd just be called an ice axe. It's normal for them to have a pick, and it's just the style of the pick on yours that's a bit out of the usual. Ones with flat polls do exist, but they're the exception rather than the norm. :)
