Has anyone bought, seen, handled, or used this knife? Seems to be a heck of a design for a field knife.

Regards,

Dave

Any chance of a link? Google has much to tell about movies and comic books, but cant seem to find the knife.

Thanks!

I'm thinking he means the M4X Punisher by Tops. Link below

There's no way to know which one he's referring too, the real deal is made by Relentless, and apparently TOPS makes a version of it too. I just dug up all the old threads pertaining to the Relentless M4X, no dice, no owners or users of that thing. If you ask me... it's an overly aggressive looking knife, but nobody asked me sooooo....:foot:

That actually looks kind of interesting. I was inclined to write it off- but it might be okay. It's made with good materials at least. The ad copy basically says that it's intent is to be a smatchet- with a different profile. The handle doesn't look particularly comfortable, and I could do without the sawback. But if you're looking for a short, heavy, sharpened prybar, that might be just the ticket. It might work well as a breaching tool. Pretty expensive, for what it is.

It seems to be roughly similar to a Becker BK3 TacTool in design intent.

As a knifemaker, I am interested in unusual designs. This knife regulary has ads in Blade magazine. The website says it's a fighter, and there are military contractual ties with them, Relentless Knives.I don't know anything about the company or this knife, I was just wondering if any of you guys had any input. Of course, what I saw indicates it costs $1,800.

I note it does not have a point, and the spine is 1/4". Not a light knife probably, and aqppears to be limited to slashing.

My question was just idle curiosity.

Regards,

Dave

Any knife without a point is not a fighter, IMO. The term "fighter" generally refers to relatively narrow blades, with swedged clip points, between 5 and 7 inches in length. That knife doesn't even come close to matching that description. You can "fight" with any knife, but that doesn't make it a "fighter".
