I have an older truck mounted piston pump located in the reservoir and was wondering if I could mount an 1750rpm electric motor straight to it or if I need to reduce the speed. For a forging press I’m making. Thanks, Jim

Welcome Jim, Fill out your profile so we know where you live and something about you.

You should post a photo of what you have and better description of what you plan to do. Press size, current truck mount pump size, etc. ?

Short answer- it probably will be difficult. It may also not deliver enough GPM.

I finally figured out how to do the profile. NOT computer savvy….. Here is the pump. No tag, name or anything. Came from a guy that kept good stuff. Oil inside was clean. No clue what truck it came off of or age. I can’t figure out how to add pictures…..

piston pump located in the reservoir
what type of reservoir is the pump located inside of? what was the pump used for on the truck? Was this a reservoir/pump used to drive a ram on the truck, such as a dump truck? Any idea what pressure it operated at? What drove the pump on the truck? From the engine via a belt or something?
