Maxace Corvus Experience? Quality or Junk?

I've seen a little about it. The worst I have heard is some reservations about it being worth the money, but the fit and finish seem to be great.

Iv'e owned one for about 6 month's, fit and finish are fantastic, knife is butter smooth with a lock up that's perfect, along with a scary sharp M390 free falling blade. what's not to like?...

I consider it the closest thing to a Sebenza flipper on bearings, at 400.00 it is pushing it but I got a fantastic deal on mine and consider it one of the best in my collection.

That is a rave review!

So question, I could not find a website for this company, I just had a concern on who I would send it to if I had a issue in the future.

I got mine from a Russian website, BladeHQ and knifecenter both sell them, I imagine you would have to ask them should you have an issue.

I know Maxace is a division of Stedmon Knives if that helps.

I also have the Cicada, another Excellent offering from Maxace.

Did a search and there is very little on what looks like possibly a wonderful knife.

Did I also mention the ergo's on this knife (for me) are outstanding, no hotspots, firm detent, clip is functional and it's one of the VERY FEW knives that iv'e owned (among many)
that works equally well with the flipper tab OR the thumb studs, you usually have to give something up one way or the other, hell I can even middle finger flick it open...

Have you owned a Olamic? And if so how would you compare them?

No problem, hope I was able to help.

You just made it harder to choose, lol! Been saving since February putting between 10 and 20 dollars a week away and I have enough for this one but I have it narrowed down to four others that are slightly more to a 100 more so might have to save a little longer. A few of these like this one have so little info.

anyone here tried Maxace Halictus titanium/blasted?
Yes, I did gave one and I liked it :)

That is the problem with some knives made in China. The original company can change quite easily and your dealing with people that have no transparent foundation the way say an American company does. You can trace the lineage of a company easier in the US than you can overseas, especially China.

That is something that has been debated to death in one form or another. If I drop that kind of money on a knife, I need peace of mind that if something goes wrong, I am going to get warranty service on a timely and professional basis.

Some members have pointed out that the same companies that produce the knock offs of the Chris Reeve, Hinderer, and other models are or can be one in the same that are producing these new models. They must have gotten some fire for it eventually. Enlan, Navy, Sanrenmu, etc are rebranded as other reputable companies.

Not all are like this I'm sure, there are exceptions. In the end, who knows? You pay your money and take your chances. I wouldn't drop that kind of coin on that knife given the current unknowns. To those that do, that is great.

I've eyeballed their stuff before, and it looks sweet. Unfortunately I just can't stop myself from buying more ZTs right now.o_O

And this is why I will probably be skipping what is a great knife. This is hard earned and saved money that takes time to put aside for me and I want to know I am backed by a company. So it looks like I am saving another 50 dollars or so and going American so that narrows it down to a few more I like.

Olamic Wayfarer I like the look of the standard basic model.

I was personally sure I had written off the Sebenza 21 but am considering giving it a chance after spending a good day watching all kinds of videos on the knife. And even if I do not like it I can sell it without much off a loss. Not sure yet but it is a serious consideration.

Stunning!

a fast/2 lines personal review?

thanks

Nicely built with tight tolerances, symmetric grind lines, ceramic detent and bearings, Nice flipping action, blade was closing under its own weight.
Handle felt weird in my hand (too narrow)so I exchanged it with knife maker for one of his custom folders and he likes it :)

I have no reason to doubt the quality of these knives. That said, there hasn't really been one that's spoken to me loud enough. Although I admit I looked this one up when I've seen it on sale, and it's a very handsome knife.

The Chinese firms I trust the most are the ones that are active community members, and OEM for stellar American makers. Of course I mean Reate and WE. Kizer has also proven themselves by collaborating with some of the most respected and established designers.

That said, I've known at least a couple of very happy Maxace owners. Of the few reviews I've seen on youtube they're always very positive. But the competition in the $300-400 range is fierce. That would buy most any Reate including Liong Mah, and there's a gorgeous sculpted Olamic Wayfarer 247 here on BF for under $400 right now. I bought a nicely customized version here for $360 that was basically NIB. I love buying here from members, as you can get a gently used or LNIB knife for well under full pop.

And heck, if you like Gavko designs, you can have a Custom Knife Factory Gavko SF (spinner) for $312 ($120 off at their garage sale). I'd put this up against my customized Ferrum Forge Spinner straight from Michal himself. M390, amazing action. Once these are gone they're gone.
