i'm proud to show you the last knife made by my friend Samuel Lurquin, many people knows that Sam works with dogs.. you know Hurak now let me introduce to you
the Maximus Bowie

Here are the details of the knife
desert iron wood grip
claws on the handle for a better grip
guard in steel 28.42 gun blue finish
blade was forged damascus1200 layers
composed of 27.14 and W2 steel
and now the dog who inspired Sam for this blade....Maximus aka Mac

Nice line and flow. Like the handle and the raised clip...big, bold, and aggresive.

Nothing like a fearless Rot or a Lurquin Bowie, especially a Damascus example! :D

Sam is close to and works daily with his dogs. They are his work away from the shop and his inspiration in his shop. The Hurak Fighter is named after his older dog, and as Frederick states, the Maximus Bowie is inspired by his newest dog.

Not your standard, orthodox bowie design, Sam wanted something big and aggressive that would represent Mac and make a statement. Statement made!!

Here is a different view of the handle/guard design.

Great design, Sam!

I like this knife.

I have not seen any of his that I did not like, so that is no surprise.

That is a great knife design and beautifully executed! Thank you for posting. it's always a pleasure seeing Sam's knives!

Almost all Bowies just leave me flat (personal preferences, etc), but there's something about this one..............

It's VERY cool! Every part of it.

Joe, for a long time l've had a narrow focus on what I include in my collection. But I've always been attracted to design and use-based weaponry. This is where I think we see similarities in stuff we like. In the case of the khukuri, I carried one in a past life - and wish it had had a fuller!

And this Maximus - well, style and design out the ass. I can feel it in my hand with my eyes.

Bob

I've never seen a Sam Lurquin knife, that I didnt like.

A beautiful Bowie.

As for the pooch - not so much.

I prefer Dogos to Rotties, but thats just a personal preference.

I am feeling just the opposite of Mr. Betzner. I DO like bowies as you probably know and I like Sam's work a lot, but the blade shape on this one really doesn't do much for me.
