I am considering getting one of these, but noticed that it does not have a waist belt. My current day pack does, and it seems to help take the load off the shoulders. Do any of you Pygmy Falcon users wish it had the waist belt?

I find the bag is small enough that it doesn't need one... Between the shoulder straps and sternum strap, it's okay for it's intended use. But I wouldn't try loading it up with a whole lot of "extra" stuff 'cause it will begin to bite your shoulders.

Too small for one IMO. It rides pretty high.

I agree with everyone above. I love the Pygmy and I don't think it needs a belt. Too small and even when full doesn't weigh very much.

Absolutely agree. Its a great "little" pack and it doesn't need a belt.

There's honestly not enough room for a waist strap. This thing would be all straps if so, like some sort of straight jacket. The sternum strap holds the pack at, or maybe even below the 50% point (vertical position on the pack), so it does it's thing perfect.

I have a Pygmy Falcon II, and I dont think there's much size difference. I can't say enough great things about this pack though. Build like a tank, small enough for EDC, enough room to hold everything I think I might need to survive the day, and it's still light enough not to be a burden.

A bit pricy for a small pack, but if you know Maxpedition, then the price really isn't the issue, it's probably something more like which color to choose.

Agreed here too!

It is a great pack. Maxpedition makes awesome stuff.

I have been using one for months. I load it up with my Notebook PC, two naglenes and ton of other stuff. Even when it is over packed I still find it very comfortable to carry. A belt strap is not needed at all.
