Anyone have any of these backpacks? do you sujest them for school? My problem with these style backpacks is that they dont have the small compartments and pen holder type things that backpacks such as Northface have. Any ideas would be great.
thanx

Maybe one of those packs plus a pouch for holding pens and gadgets would be a good idea. .

Do you actually use all the pen pouches in the packs?

I've never really used 'em. Usually i just keep everything in a pencil case. Right now that's a tin Jack Daniel's case that comes with the bottle.

That's the first pencil case i've had that no one has tried to steal. Too big for anyone really but it fits my hole puncher, stapler, glue and about 4-5 highlighters and maybe 10 pens.

I'm currently looking at the baby condor for a school pack. But i feel guilty about considering it since i just bought a nice Crumpler backpack. How spacious is the condor for bringing school stuff?

Go with the Condor. There's some pen pockets in the front. If you need more space for the small stuff, just add the side pockets. I carry my laptop and lots of files and stuff in mine.

Ditto to that. My Condor is my school pack. I've added a Rolly-polly (for a Nalgene bottle) and a Cocoon pouch too.

are you guys talking about the baby condor or the normal condor? I was looking at the site and it looks as if the baby condor is somehow larger than the normal condor.

Tony's pictures show the Baby Condor, and I'm talking about the regular Condor. Dunno why the "baby" is larger than the regular one.

I've been looking at TAD Gear and the Baby condor looks a lot smaller. But actually they're both 32 litres. But on the Maxpedition website the Baby condor has 33 litres.

The Condor however looks a bit of an overkill for school packs. It just looks like there's too much going on the back pack.

I couldn't take it anymore...it's all you people's fault!!!!

I just ordered the baby condor and the fatboy.

Man one day my wife's gonna ban me from using the computer...

It's even worse since she's not working and will probably be the one signing for the package.

I will trade problems....I am unmarried and have no one to control my spending.:(

P.S. I like your avatar...Lone Wolf and Cub...Have to read the comics(manga) or just saw the movie? Did you know that they actually made a GAME out of it!
Fun, but a bit strange in execution.

Well I too have jumped on the bandwagon and just ordered a falcom. Tad gear has all the maxpedition packs on sale so I figure it must be a sign.

Sorry...never read the comics. Only watched the movies. I love samurai movies. A whole lot better than those sneaky ninjas.

Never knew they made a game.

You should check out the Maxpedition MPB. Looks like it would fit the school needs very well.
I've not handled one...yet..

I've been looking at the MPB but i don't think i'd wanna lug that around in university.

Maybe as a bug out bag in the car it'll be cool.

I've got one.

It holds everything great, but with 3 books and a laptop (even with the padded strap) it is very hard on the shoulder!
