I'm sorry if this topic has been worn out but I did a search and couldn't find any threads on it.

I just bought the above pack and was wondering what ya'll thought of it. It will mostly be used for overnighters. Maybe a three day trip everyonce in a while. Thanks for your comments and for any tips. Pics of how you have yours set up are of course more than welcome.

You might have to wait a while. I looked into Condors not too long ago and as you discovered, there was not much discussion about them, here or other places. FWIW, those that did have them generally liked them. Someone must be using them or they would have been discontinued by now.

I ran into a too-good-to-pass-up deal on a Baby Condor, so I bought it. Haven't really used it yet, so I'm not much help either. It turned out just a little bigger than I need right now, so I'm just holding on to it. I like the construction, typical Maxpedition, and overall design. Feels comfortable when loaded. The fact that is doesn't have a full flat panel opening is fine with me, as I mostly use my bag in the woods and go into it often during the day for this or that as I move around. Full panels (think Pygmy Falcon) open all the way, but always seem to want to open all the way, especially when the front pouch is loaded heavy. That's a pain when I'm standing and don't want everything to dump if I get a little careless when I'm digging around. In camp it's not an issue. As a daypack or over-nighter, it should shine. 3 days might be stretching it a bit unless you're a frugal packer. I think I could do it OK, but probably not in colder weather.

This place has the most the info about them from users that I can think of. You'll have to register to search though: Link

It got the Condor's big sister the Vulture-II. I LOVE this pack. It's tough as nails and will probably outlast me. That and my Maxpedition Colossus V-Pack are my two favorite bags. You are not gonna be sorry. Wear it often and make what adjustments you need to to make the bag suit your needs and you will never get rid of it. None of the Maxi packs are what I would consider good for serious hiking, climbing, or trips in the wild lasting over 3 days. They just don't have the load support. But for an EDC pack that you can leave at the foot of your bed and grab on the way out everyday or for overnight or three day treks, They are hard to beat. I enjoy how stiff the material is. For an EDC pack I feel this is important as the bag can sit upright on it's own without crumpling in our car seat or floorboard. And the material is very scuff resistant for when you drag it on concrete or walk a little too close to a brick wall or the like. You won't regret buying that pack if you just use it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Maybe I should have stated this in my OP, but I have a Pygmy Falcon II and the little thing is awesome. I also used the google search, not the one on the site itself.

I bought one and have never used it. I bought it for a BOB or three day pack and it always ran out of room before everything was in it. Like most Maxpedition gear it was smaller than I was expecting it to be when I ordered it. I have a Pygmy Falcon that works nicely for a day use or hunting pack but I haven't warmed up to the Condor as yet.

Bought mine 3+ years ago and it's seen regular use as my main pack, not much visible wear, as you'd expect. I occasionally wish it had a little more space but then it wouldn't be as compact. It's the perfect size for short trips, or as a carry-on for travel by air.

I have one that I use for hiking. The only problem I have had with mine is that it took me quite some time to get it adjusted for the width of my shoulders. Once I finally got that straightened out, it rides a lot better.

Only problem I've heard of is the same gripe with all Maxped backpacks: they are too short to really use the waist belt -- it generally cuts across the bottom of the ribcage.

However, they are smaller than they look, and you shouldn't end up with that much weight in them anyway.

Yea, it's smaller than I thought it was. (I bought it online) I took the belt off anyways because I don't like them and never use them.

Overnight trips you will be fine. 3 day trip, eh not sure. I use mine daily as lunch bag, briefcase and occasional laptop bag. My only complaint is I wish it had water bottle holders on the side instead of the webbing. I got mine because the Jansport type book bags all felt cheap to me. I'm very pleased with my Condor II.
