Maxpedition knives

I was chatting with a BladeForums member that was carrying a Maxpedition Small Excelsa, and I thought that it was a pretty sweet looking titanium frame lock. Does anyone know who makes Maxpedition knives? I'm assuming that they aren't in the knife-making business...just selling them. Maybe I'm wrong!

Anybody else try out the Excelsa?

I think it was Cutlerylover on YT that did a review on the small and large Excelsa. From YT comments of others who've owned them, most prefer the large model somewhat and have very few complaints about the knife overall. It looks really nice, you get full Ti, D2, in a good looking package for a great price. Someone mentioned they released another knife model previously and this improves on all of the 'issues' that model had. It's a bad time of year for me to get more things I don't need, but I'd probably pick one up if I had known a couple months back. I don't know who makes it, I'm sure it's contracted out...the only issue with that is we have no idea how well the heat treatment is done.

They were late getting this one released to dealers.

They did show it at the 2013 SHOT Show, but with very little information regarding it in a video.

I would say stay away from a knife made by some bag company. It is like buying a knife made by TUMI or GUCCI!
Besides, it seems like Maxpedition just got in touble for knocking off the entire Mad Dog knives line recently... how original and hard-(to)-use! LOL

"Seems." Did you see this happen, or is it just idle gossip?
