I got this Merlin in today from the buy one get one free deal. I like it. I think it will be the perfect pack for Colombia since I can pack all my gear in my travel duffel and just throw this Merlin in all folded up looking like a man purse. Once there, I can stow all the cool guy gear and an extra pair of pants/shirt in the Merlin and head out do do our thing around the country, while leaving some of our gear at the hotel in Bogota.
 
Sounds like a great bag. I've never been disappointed with any of my maxpedition gear. The extra little pouches cost an outrageous amount, but then again they are worth it too.
 
I am sort of a pack nut. Give us a field report on it. Always looking for new things to "need".
 
Actually that is a pretty good idea for a pack. It keeps things simple but it's there if you need it. Looking forward to the review.

Well, let me redeem this thread. The Merlin is good for carrying your marijuana, crack rocks AND steroid packs in also! :D
 
It's amazing how small this thing folds up. When I first opened the box I thought they had sent the wrong item. Once it opens there is a lot of room inside.
 
We have truly gone down the path of.....hell...I don't know where we're headed...
 
Maxpedition says it folds down to 8" x 5" x 4". It should fit right in with your Depend® underwear. :p
