so i just purchased the pigmy back pack.. cant wait really i need a good small back pack. the maxi jumbo at times is just too small or it moves around alot since its a sling. i am starting not to like the jumbo.. tempted to sell or trade. its in great shape.

anyway my question is, with the pigmy, what water bottles plastic and stainless steel fit in the 2 side water bottle holders?? i am more intersted in stainless than plastic..

The holders will fit any of the standard sized nalgene bottles. I used a couple of the BPA free white ones. Worked great.

If a standard Nalgene fits, then a stainless Nalgene (aka Guyot) will fit.

Plus, because of the reduced wall thickness and smaller radii, you get 40 oz. of water into the same externally sized Stainless Nalgenes!

nice!! thanks guys!

they do make a guyot that is totally stainless right? i dont want plastic on the lids bc if i heat it up (on a fire or whatever) it will melt. or will it? hope that made sense. i am in a rush lol..

most 40oz stainless steel bottles are the same size or slightly slimmer than the nalgene equivalent, so you should be fine with most available sizes of stainless bottles.

those side pouches are quite large. it will hold the majority of nalgene type bottles.

I have a Pygmy Falcon 2 and every bottle I have fits in the side pockets, even the 40oz Kleen Canteen and 38oz Guyot.

The wide mouth Guyot has a cord that allows complete removal of the lid.
This is the only option I'm aware of for using these bottles around fire.

Here's mine. It's basically my daypack/BOB rolled into one.
That's a standard wide-mouthed 1L Nalgene.
The GPS unit and some trail mix usually ride in the other side pocket.
