I am looking at getting the Pug wallet from them, I first noticed the rat, but it was not really my taste, but anyway I then noticed the Pug wallet, coincidently I just happen to have 2 Pug dogs, coincidence?, you decide, but anyway, it looks good to me, it sounds good from what I have read, but I want to know, what people actually think about it, quality wise?, easy access, to bills, cards, etc, so if anyone has one could you give your opinion on it, that would be very appreciated, thanks..

Well, I don't have any of the Wallets, but I've heard the quality is awesome! I just ordered a Thermite waistpack last night.

I used to have the pug wallet, but I got rid of it because it was too big for me. Be advised this wallet is bigger than your dogs. It appeared to be very high quality, good stiching, good cordura, but I never carried it due to the size.

The quality of my other Maxpedition gear (sheath) is very high.

det,
How big is the Pug exactly? It can't be much bigger than THE Wallet.

I don't have the wallet, but I just GOT a thermite versipak YESTERDAY, and it is built SOLID. The only Gripe I have with it is that it kinda gapes open-although you can cinch it up with the handy extender flap thingy. I am pretty rough on gear; sliding on pavement tears SOME stuff up. It made me want a wallet by them, but I can't bear to shelf my father's tumi he gave me. I got the versipak in the Chrome store (a maker of tried and true messenger bags), and I know those guys know 'hard-use' stuff so I was instilled with even more confidence about it. I had been lusting after some Maxpedition gear for a few months now, so Jeepin, if ou do get one please post your thoughts on it.:)

Actually, I ended up trading it for a THE wallet, but that was too large also. The THE wallet is thin, but very square. The PUG is more rectangular, but it is VERY thick. The PUG wallet actually comes with belt loops if that tells you anything.

jeepin, I'd been trying to convince myself to get a Pug or Rat, but decided on the M2 small waist pack instead, as long as I'm going to put it on my belt anyway. I don't like fumbling at a wallet stuck on my belt. I keep folded bills, credit and ID cards, and small change in a 4.5 x 3 x .5" zippered pouch in a front pocket. More secure and convenient.

THE Wallet 5.5 x 4.5 x .5"
The Rat 5.5 x 4 x 1.5"
The Pug 5.5 x 3.5 x 1"

But Maxpedition is impressive. Ken Collucci got a Fatboy Versipak, and it's very well made and seems to have a lot of room -- pockets and connectors everywhere. For winter carry, the Rat might be a good idea for carrying PDA, cellphone, and wallet, as long as all of it is going in a parka pocket or in a backpack anyway.

Esav,

How would you describe the size of the M2? I currently carry a Victorinox SwissTool X in its Victorinox Nylon Pouch on my belt. I was thinking of going to the Maxpedition M2 to Carry the SwissTool, an Inova X5MT, and a few other small items on my belt.

I KNOW the M2 will be bigger than just the SwissTool Pouch, but it's hard to say how much bigger. Could you try to describe it for me? my main concern is with how far it will 'stick out'. When I wear jeans with an un-tucked T-shirt, my SwissTool pouch just disappears, will the M2 make a big lump on my hip?

Thanks,

-John

John, I wish I could help you from my own experience, but I just ordered it, and it's on backorder  and won't be here till the end of the month. I can only go by the measurements in the ad, and by that standard, it isn't a disappearing act.

Here it is, 5.5" x 3" x 2" -- but I bet that 2" is unloaded. Put a cellphone in the front pouch, with the fastech buckle sticking out, snagging the t-shirt :) and a couple of extra items in the main compartment ... maybe three or four fingers deep. It will show, but maybe not to much, because it isn't wide. Right now, I have 4 or 5 separate items on my belt on the right side.

I don't mind because it won't be an everyday thing anyway, and with winter around, I like to modularize instead of fumbling for every separate item with gloves on. I'm looking to put a Powerlock, E2 or X5T, and harmonica in there, and probably my wallet in back of them.

I have the M2 and yes, it will make a big lump, relatively speaking. I can fit my cell and PDA into one case now instead of two, and still have some room left over. Dont get me wrong as it isnt huge, but it isnt going to disappear. THE wallet will not fit in it, which is kind of a shame.

Well, I went and convinced my fiancee that I need a Fatboy and PUG so she tells me that they will be under the Christmas tree in a few weeks. I might be able to sneak a peak though...I'll let you know what I come up with ;)

Well, I couldnt take it so I had to order the Pug, I have heard from some people that they thought it was to thick, I hope not, the other dimensions I am not worried about, just the thickness, it should be here in a couple of days, will see then..
