I have been experimenting with this bag for the past few months. I originally got it to use has a stuff sack in my large 3 day pack. That way when I have camp set up I had a lightweight backpack to go exploring with. It's worked great in that role! Very much like a REI flash or other fold-up backpack but the Maxpedition version is heavier duty and offers more organization (typical).

I wanted to see how much stuff could be crammed into this bag and if it could be pushed into an overnight bag.

Here is what I came up with...

The clown car of backpacks is filled to the gills.

A peak inside to main compartment (no zipper, bag close on itself when worn)

Front pocket is very deep

And now for the money shot.

Run down of what I could fit.
12" Condor Bolo Machete
Mora
Fleece hat
Gloves
Bandanna
40 oz water bottle
GSI cup
Two Platypus water bladders
Reflective Blanket
MEST tarp (5x7)
Line Kit
Small FAK
Headlamp
Sharpening puck
Repair/survival kit
Lighter
Match container
Food
Plastic sheeting pack
Foam sit pad
And a bunch of other small items

The pack has plenty of adjustment in the straps and rides great. You use this pack with a larger butt pack and you would be set for a weekend trip.

That thing holds a lot of stuff, my son does a lot of backpacking and was talking to me about just a day pack. He wanted something light for just a day of hiking. That looks like it would do don't you think. I like all the gear you put in it. I told him to check out the forum here and he could learn some things from you guys aroud here. Last year he did a 40 mile hike but i don't think he's going to go that hard this time. Well have a good one. Thanks for the cool review.

HI Panzertroop

Could you post images of the straps ...top and bottom up close when packed ..... I have found the weak area in these lightweight packs are often the strap attachment points ....... is thios one beefed up or just onto the pack fabric without any added material?

Thanx for the post.

Aubrey
