I jus ordered a Maxpedition DevilDog and FatBoy, along with some Nalgene bottles and some other "get the hell outa suburbia" gear, I can't wait to get my new toys. I told my wife and daughter that we are getting the hell outside this summer and doing some hiking and camping, we have been putting it off for far too many years. We are all looking forward to it...my daughter is already looking forward to making me catch snakes and fishing. I am so happy she is into doing outdoors stuff :)

Snake catching is not exactly a huge hobby in my part of the world!

Maybe she is trying to get rid of you. ;)

This kid is fascinated (spelling?) by snakes and dinosaurs and animals in general, she and I wanted to get a Ball Python, but the wife said no freakin way. Anyhow, I was telling my daughter how I used to catch garden snakes and the like when I was a boy, so now I have been told that is what I will be doing again this summer.

The main snake inhabitant of these parts is good old Notechis Scutatus. Not a good candidate for snake catching expeditions.

We also have plenty of Pseudonaja Textilis[font=Arial,Helvetica] as well. You definitely don't want to be catching any of these either.

Dude I wouldn't touch ANYTHING down in your neck of the woods, isn't everything in OZ poisonous? hell you might even have venom glands you don't even know about. We have a few venomous snakes in the north-east USA, like the Copperhead and Timber Rattler, but they are rare.

I love my Maxpedition Fatboy but i wouldn't use it for hiking or camping. I'd use my baby condor for camping though. Great stuff from maxpedition.

Won't be doing much camping or hiking or fishing this summer....gotta find myself a job.

Great stuff. But not to get off subject if ya want to get outside with the family and keep thier enjoyment look into .

These new items I ordered are strictly for day hikes. :)
