I have been experimenting with the Maxpedition range for about six months.

I started with a versipack fatboy and reciently bought a vulture pack.

I have just bought a mini rollypoly, m4 waistpack and h1 waistpack (oh and some malice clips also)

Well flipping heck... its not that obvious where to attach these extra items... my vulture is away with a friend, but it took me a while to find a good place for the rollypoly on the fatboy. I attached it to the`strap of the mobile phone pouch. Anyone think of a better place? Thanks.

I hang my M1 on the straps below the key keeper and I clip the RP to the pouch strap on the left side.

I am also moving this to Gadgets & Gear. :)

Thanks for moving, my mistake. Any chance of a pic? I wish I had had a closer look at your tricked up fatboy in New York.

The only thing that I used a Malice clip with was the Mini RP. The M1 M2 clipped on easily enough with what was provided already in a way of loops.

(Forgot which waistpack I had...DOH!)

You clipped the rolly to the zip up pouch straps then? I don't have an M1 btw!
Yes. Yes I did! And no one is gonna tell me I can't!!! :p :D ;)

So have I... Thanks, now I need to get an M1, the H1 and M4 are for the Vulture pack. :D
I have M2 waistpack. I had the M1 but it was too small. My mistake.

Anybody of pics of the M1 or M2 in use? I want to get one, but I'd like to see how much can really fit in there before I decide which one.

Thanks.

Hi All-

Just to ensure the order is clear, the M-1 waistpack is LARGER than the M-2, which is their smallest design. The order from smallest to biggest in the "M-series" pouches is as follows:
  • M-2
  • M-1
  • M-5
  • M-4
The person who made those arrangements should be taken out to the woodshed and slapped about the head for creating such a confusing situation! The smallest number should translate to the smallest waistpack and go up the line from there. New models should get a completely different letter designation when released to the market for consumer consumption.

I own the M-1 and consider it too small for practical use except for maybe urban environments for a wallet, keys, and a tiny flashlight. It won't handle anything like a SureFire M2 (not to get confusing here!) Centurion and a decent-sized knife along with typical EDC items. If you're a person who travels with more than the aforementioned items, you'll certainly need something bigger.

I took delivery, tossed it in the closet never to be used. That is unfortunate because the build quality and attention-to-detail is excellent. The belt loops will NEVER rip and the zippers and velcro are top-notch and look extremely durable. Any stitch that could separate is reinforced several times over. Has anyone ever worked with their Customer Service department for an exchange? I wouldn't mind trading this for the M-4. :)

I have a M2. It holds my cell out front and my Surefire E2E, Leatherman juice, first aid stuff,Spyderhawk, plus my over sized travel wallet in back.

Its bigger then I thought,or wanted.I just wanted room for a cell with E2E and Leatherman Juice behind it.I can fit in this plus my over sized travel wallet,Spyderhawk, first aid gear.

To me this "low profile" M2 is to big for what I wanted, and is about as "low profile" as strappin' a can of beans to my belt.

I mean really with a pullover on it looks like I have some kind of growth sticking way out

Oh well on with the search for the perfect pouch. :)

Lone Hunter, are you sure you're not confusing the different models? It is hard to imagine how an M-2 would comfortably fit everything described in your post, including an "oversized travel wallet" into a main compartment that only measures 5" x 3" x 1.5" total. Are you literally jamming it shut with all your strength?

I've got the larger M-1 and it can barely fit my wallet, knife, keys, and SureFire E2E. Forget about the SureFire M2 Centurion because it is a quarter-inch too long. I just slipped a small Canon S200 digital camera into the main compartment and it practically filled the whole thing.

Ideally, it would preferable to have extra room for PowerBars, a pen, small tools, cellular phone, and possibly the pocket camera mentioned above.

Blue Jays, its the M-2. I bought it because they list it as 1 1/2 inches deep, thinking it would stickout little more than a phone. When I have my cell in the front pocket,a few band aids etc in the inner pocket of main comp. leatherman Juice in rear pocket,I then place wallet in (I do have to push upper corners into M2),E2E fits next to wallet and Spyderco slides in, in front of wallet.

Now the whole thing is just over 4 inches deep. I do not carry the wallet in there, but it does fit.Even without it in,the M2 is still about 4 inches with phone light etc.

Its made well, and I like that. But what I wanted was something that would hold a phone with a surefire and multi-tool behind it.Like taking the M2 and removing everything from the zipper back.

Blue Jays: email me... I'll take the m2 off you. Sounds like it should take my usual pocket load.
