Im having trouble diciding between the maxpedition Vulture ll and the Eagle industries A-III MOLLE Pack. Their pretty much the same pack I just what to know if one is better than the other. Im going to be using it for school, camping, and on vacations. Im kinda leaning toward the eagle industries because its made in USA.

They're both solid packs. Max is more military looking with the molle webbing everywhere, but of course that also makes it more modular. You'd probably be happy with either (assuming you really want a military style pack), favoring Eagle on the basis of being made in the USA seems like a fine strategy to me.

The eagle doesn't have the expandability nor does it look as comfortable to wear for extended periods. I've owned gear from both companies and have gone with maxpedition simply because they tend to offer a superior price for products for the price. I own a condor, fatboy, and a bunch of modular pouches from them and i plan on buying a Vulture and Attache from them in the near future.

I like my Eagle Industries gear. Worlds better then the Blackhawk knockoff's.

Camel-bak offers some military only gear too which I find to be top notch stuff.

Judging by the great quality of the packs I own by both manufacturers (I have one from each, not exactly a representative sample) I would bet that you could not go wrong with either.

Myself, all other things being equal, I'd go with the made in usa eagle pack as well.

Well I went with the black maxpedition Vulture 2. It arrived today and let me tell you this think is build like a tank. The onganizer /pen holder on the isnside of the front pocket is what made me choose the maxpedition over the Eagle industries. Also to anyone looking at maxpedition packs on their website, the guy that is wearing the pack is really small ( makes the packs look bigger than they are).

I hope you like the product, but I have wonder on why you bothered asking for advice? Everyone said that both are good but Eagle got a 3 to 1 vote for being the better of the two. In spite of that you still picked the Maxpedtion. I have been using Eagle products since 93 or so and have no complaints. Good luck with your purchase.

Eagle didn't get a 3-1 vote for being the better of the two. there were 3 "it's made in the USA's" to 1 "heres a list of reasons why i like the maxpedition better" Overall, the content of the posts favored his decision since every post affirmed they both had the build quality he was looking for and the maxpedition bag had better features.

Well I hope it does him well and I hope he doesn’t have to send it back to Taiwan to get it fixed.

and I counted two " all things being equal, Id get the USA product" and one Eagle over blackhwak

Hi ScubaSteve-

You've made a great choice. I have products made by both companies, plus the former SOEGEAR company. All three vendors are fantastic and none will fail you during typical use. Enjoy your pack.

Eagle, Hands down...
Max, second, but you hafta do something about that Y strap. If you rely on it, you'll lose whatever it is you're strapping down.

Eagle is the original. It was the choice before Blackhawk and the other 10,000 manufacturers popped up. Maxpedition is still questionable to me.
