A friend of mine from another island passed by and showed me his new "baby"! :D Wow! It's a monster, but a well made and beautiful one!
Couldn't resist taking a few snapshots of it! Man, this thing is huge, but feels great in the hand despite it's massive size. It's light too and very easy to handle in every way!
Jeeze, I wish one handers were legal here! :( All I got now are pics and memories! *snif*!

Thanks! I don't have one either! Very, very illegal with one hand openers here in Denmark!

Porcupine - How do they determine if the knife is a one hand opener?

Dirk,
If it has a thumbstud or a hole in the blade, it's classified as a one hand opening folder. Theoretically, The blade may be too tight to open with one hand, but it will still be classified as a one hander! :grumpy:

That sucks! I'm glad there are people out there willing to protect us from ourselves.

The stud on the CUDA MAXX's blade is NOT an openner, according to both Camillus and to Darryl Ralph, the designer. It is a blade stop, to keep the blade from openning too far. You are actually supposed to use th elittle quillons as assists for openning. Is that going to make any difference in how the knife is treated in Denmark?

Nice pictures. Kinda makes me miss the one I traded a while back.

Hugh, I doubt that it will. In most cases, it's all about appearance, not function.

You're probably right, but it does eem sort of silly when the people who make the knife and the man who designed it do not call the stud an openning device. The truth is that it is too close to the pivot for the leverage to work for you, it makes a lousy openner.

Hugh,
Doesn't make any difference at all, unfortunately! As long as there's a stud, hole, flipper or any other device that can be used for one hand opening, it's classified as such! Sucks!
I've even heard about a BM 705 Axis (with the thumbstud removed) being confiscated from a shop!
They couldn't call it a one hand opening knife, so it was classified as a "switchblade and/or gravity knife"..........!:grumpy:

Bo, that's pitiful. And to think I bought my BM 710 at Arms Gallery in Copenhagen about 5 years ago. Ofcourse...I had to buy it without the thumbstuds, but they gave me a little ziploc bag with..Erhm...Shall we say...Accessories :D

Even then I didn't really need the thumbstuds, but the Axis Locks were being sold freely. Well... As freely as knives get in Denmark :(

I'm glad that I got away. I miss it, but the political climate...Brrr.

Carniflex,
I agree completely! The political climate is unbearable here and it's most likely to get worse!
Good for you that you got out!
