I'm beginning to think this is a "must have".

Any thoughts? Any good places who'll ship to a Brit?

I have one of Darrels Mad Max knives, and have to say that the thin profile, and length of the blade makes it a dream to carry. The flippers make it pretty quick to deploy as well. Hope you get one, I think you would like it.

I've looked at one a couple of times. This knife is huge! Be careful when opening it! I actually brushed my stomach with the tip when opening it using the thumb stud and opening it like I'd do with any ither folder! I'm not sure where I would carry it, as it seems more like a folding short sword than a knife, but it seems to have caught my attention.

This is the Crocodile Dundee of folders,"That's not a knife, mate, this is a knife!(giant Madd Maxx click noise here)".

I might have to get one.

Jmx I too have had the stomach scraping pleasure you spoke of, After some practice, opening this knife will be no problem.

Whatever you want to know about the Cuda Maxx, go to the Camillus forum and do a search. It's all there. It'll carry in a front jeans pocket just like any other clipped folder. The "thumbstuds" are not thumbstuds, they are stop pins that contact the handle and hold the knife in the open position in conjunction with the integral bar lock. You use the flipper and a little action wrist to open the knife. It is a big knife, mine measures 11.375" (29 cm) open. Check your local laws for sure.

If your interested in a big blade folders you must take a look at SOG Pentagon II. It's 5" and has lock kinda like a benchmade axis-lock and blade like a Applegate. You have to apply stiff pressure to the thumbstub, but then, the blade flys out fast, smooth and silent. It's safe, quality and inexpencive too.

i like the maxx much better than a PE11, because:

*maxx has a better lock, imho

*is thinner, easier to carry, for me anyway.....

*better steel in blade (D2)most would agree

*looks better to ME, lol, i like the anodized handle/etc

*the flippers really help when opening the knife, once ya get used to it, it is really fast

so, i prefer the maxx, myself, they are a little higher, but oh well.....

dont get me wrong, the SOG is ok too, but for ME i prefer the maxx

Yes, really sounds good.

I have to find somewhere to buy it from now.
The European dealer I'd normally go to would charge me $223 - though that includes shipping.
