So, I got in an LB7 for work a week or so back, I just got itme to finish it up and thought I'd share a fun little detail I noticed. The knife was a 4 pin with a serial number. When I removed the scales the liners were drilled for the 4 pins, but it was also drilled for the usual three pin configuration of the later model LB7's. So my question is, is this possibly a transition knife when they switched over to three pins, but still had some 4 pin scales left, or am I way off track? Here's some pics.

When they switched to three pins, they also made four pins for some cover compositions. IIRC, the stabilized woods worked ok with three, but they found the smooth Delrin did not lay down flat enough without the forth pin.
