I had been looking at the KOA muskrat for a smaller fixed blade . For when my BK -10 was more than need or not appropriate for where I am at . After using it around the house I think it might fit the bill . I ordered some lured for it for farther trials
P.S. I just wish it was 1095 instead of D2

I hadnt thought about a companion blade for that size Becker, but now Im picturing a Remora in the sheath for the BK-10.
And for the BK-2, attaching a BK-11 to the kydex sheath.

Thanks for bringing this up!
Good luck with the muskrat and keep us updated!

Is something wrong with D2?

I didn't use my KOA Muskrat much, but my KOA Caper has been great for caping out animals and detailed skinning work on traplines. It's a handy as B&T too. My KOA knives are older models (bought in the early to mid 1990s if my memory serves me) so I can't speak on the current production, but KOA's D2 was pretty well done many years ago.

I had a KOA Alpha Wolf in D2 for several years and really like it and the steel. I convexed the edge, got it to hair popping sharp, then used it for 2 years (primarily cleaning whitetails and kitchen duty) without having to do more than strop it every now and then. It never rusted on me either. It was a laser slicer that just wouldn't quit. I ended up selling it to fund another purchase but always regretted it.

KOA's D2 is good stuff, I think you'll like it.

Any knife you have and like could go with it. I find the 11 a little too small but the 14 would be perfect.

My current edc favorite is the 18. Strong side carry with handle forward.
