Well folks it seems as if it ain't one damned thing it's another. :o
Somehow, someway, I developed a venous ulcer. When it first started I thought it was just a pressure sore like I've had before and which are bad enough a-n-d then my lower leg started swelling until it was at least 1-1/2 or 1-3/4 times its normal size a-n-d Hurting like Pure Ol' Billy Hell ! :(

I'm not gonna post any pics as most of the ones I've seen are pretty graphic, however I will post a Linky er two er so... ;)
Peek at yer own risk folks...:o
Linky - 1

I meant to put in the first post that the LLLT is still doing very well! Until my leg got so bad I had dropped one of my prescribed oral pain meds to 2-1/2 mg per day down from 10 mg per day...

Aye, chihuahua!

Smoke up when the wind stops and I can go outside... Yvsa, you're tougher than a two-dollar steak. That there's only ugly, you've laughed at worse. :D

Mom has fought this for years. Diagnosed as Stasis Ulcer, than determined to be venous ulcer, now determined to be pressure ulcer. Right on the right outside ankle bone.
Leg has swollen in the past, also.
Current recommendations 'remove all sense of pressure - suspend. Try to convince a 92 yr old Mom that she needs to do this to relieve condition.
ALSO. a procedure that appears to be working, although expensive.
Mepilex Border with Safetac Technology Bandages like a big arm/elbow bandaid. The one we use is 3x3 in, but come in different sizes. It is a silicone composition. You leave it on for a week at a time. Taking a bath you protect the area with celophane? or plactic wrap to assure it doesn't get wet and come off. Comes in a box from a Medical Supply Co, as I say damn expensive. 5 in a box @ $36.56 a box including tax in Albuquerque.
Initial diagnosis (again) from Wound Management Specialists recommended this procedure as opposed to many others tried. A couple bandages were given to me until I could get to the medical supply co. That comes down to $7.31 a bandage. Significant improvement has been made in the wound. I bought two boxes as it is difficult for me to take the 65 mile round trip to get them. I explained this to the lady selling me the bandages and she told me, here is the order no, just call me and we will ship them to you by UPS for $5.00 shipping charge. Suppose that is cheaper than the round trip in my F150 at 13 mpg and stress of leaving Mom alone for the travel time.
Observing Mom and learning to be a nurse as part of the caregiving, I can imagine the discomfort you are feeling.
May you heal soon. Dale

I wish you a speedy recovery, smoke sent, may you find peace and strength from within.
