with all the questions about what I can carry here and there and people asking about travel restrictions..maybe we need a new forum regarding travel? Current conditions and attitudes, what countries have what new silly (or maybe not silly) regulations. I think that knife laws covers some of this but I have seen enough threads about "can I carry this or that" and I think maybe a new forum might be in order. I think enough of us travel that this might be a valid thought.
And I post this here as I think this section gets the most exposure.

Maybe I should have been a little clearer, not JUST about knives or pointy things but also about conditions in various places, info on airports, recent changes in security or lack of in random countries. I mean it might be helpful to know that in "_____" country wearing a shirt with "______" on it is a bad idea or that right now in "_______" city there has been a high level of pickpockets/luggage theft/bad sausage etc. Info other than just laws.

That stuff can be included in the Knife Laws forum

What I had in mind was a clearinghouse of travel info that us knife/gadget/prepardeness geeks could use to swap time sensitive info. Not just laws and regulations.

I understand, and that's a good idea, but instead of creating an entirely new forum, why not just expand the Knife Laws forum topics to include this other information.

You should post a question in the forum where it belongs, not where you think it gets the most exposure. Otherwise, why would we have other forums?

And so, away we go ...
