Maybe I'm alone on this train of thought but it would be nice to have a CRK WTB / WTT for sub-forum with the Chris Reeve Knives For Sale sub-forum. I don't check the general exchange too often for a WTB CRK listing I posted awhile back but the couple times I did look in on it there were very few hits. As long as you are buying or trading for a CRK and there are rules to live by as to what can be traded I'd probably never leave these two forums. I have a 55 year old little sister and a 14 year old cat that I would trade for a large, double lug, basketweave Damascus right now. I'll even throw in a little cash. Be forewarned though. She (and the cat) might go kicking and screaming. Can this be supported and what would you trade?

You are not alone. A bit of recent history for those who weren't here for it:

The CRK For Sale Sub Forum was just a recent addition to BF. I believe it went live in June. There was a long thread here (several years long if I remember correctly) supporting the idea of starting the sub forum. Ultimately, it took a thread in the "Tech Support" forum that Spark took notice to. At first he didn't seem too receptive to the idea even though there were many of us CRK regulars posting our support over there. His hesitation was that there needed to be enough CRK sales traffic to justify the new forum. The thread died for a couple of weeks. Then in a last ditch effort, a count of CRK sales listings and a comparison to other sales forums was made and posted there. It was only then when he decided that it was justifiable.

In that Tech Support thread, it was proposed to include the CRK WTB listings along with the CRK For Trade listings. He must have decided against the idea and I believe that it was because that there simply wasn't enough of that traffic to justify it.

If you or someone else wants to try it again, I'd recommend starting a thread in Tech Support. I would support the effort as I am sure others would as well. Unless there is a good way of incorporating the listings into the existing forum, I personally don't see it happening though.

Many thanks, Corskin. At one point in my life I had many a high end custom or limited production knife that I would have traded. I still have a couple that I'd trade for a few CRK's that I'm looking for.

I followed this forum for years before becoming a member and didn't realize that the CRK sales forum was that recent. Guess I'm getting old.

No problem my friend. I think the CRK sales forum has proved to be very successful. I also don't see the harm in mixing the listings like they do in the Canadian Exchange. Maybe a poll is in order...
