Jerry Busse created a legacy that will outlive his mortal body.
His knives bear his name and will survive beyond the lifespans of everyone alive today.
Jerry already won.
He took a passion and turned it into a legacy. A legacy that, for many of us, has been integrated into our own family legacies, and have become heirloom pieces.
As long as my kids use the tools I have given them, I shall live forever. Those tools can be the skills of tying shoes and reading, or those tools can be concrete objects, like guns and knives.
As long as Busse knives are used, whether or not the company exists or every employee is dead and buried, they, Jerry and all involved, live forever.
Until the last blade finally breaks, Jerry wins.
And, by extension, don't we all!
