Hi oo,
Yep this is a friendly forum just sum poor brain damaged fellow keeps coming on with new identities, & insulting people so I guess people are perhaps wondering whether you are the dreaded Burafan?

If you hang around people will come to know you.

Welcome to the Cantina. The origins of the Khukri are still a great debate, so many theorys but no definite answer.
And once again Welcome.

I think that is a fair question. Welcome. The Greeks (to lump alot of people around that time and area) did use a short curved sword. There are many that think that the Greek martial art Pankration may have been the basis for many Asian martial arts. Before anyone gets crazy about that last part I am not saying that it is correct just a theory. So I could see where there weapons could have some influence on the stuff used all over the known world at the time. I am unsure what kind of tool/weapons where used in the area of Nepal at the same time period. I am sure that some here would know the answer.

I'm thinking the design was modified from the Greeks. Have you looked at the web site yet? Lots of interesting stuff there.

btw; only person who calls me 'mr' is the wife, right before I'm in deep sh--

It is often said that the khukuri was influenced by the Greek Kopis. Wouldn't be a surprise. As "Iskander," Alexander is still the "boggieman" from Syria to India ("Be good or Iskander will get you.")
