... is this a fake? I have a couple of CRKs but I'm not an expert at all means...

[Don't link Live ebay auctions, it's against the rules. You can simply upload the pictures instead with a photobucket account or something similar]

With all these bad news about "good" fakes I feel uncomfortable. But I like the knife :)

I don't want to bother CRK about it - thanks for your help!

Not an expert, and I can't be 100% until I hold the knife, but nothing alarms me about that knife in particular and I would feel saying from the pictures that I am 99% confident its is real.

On a second quick look... I am not sure what the two "grind" marks are on the lock bar???? Never have seen that before. Knife still looks real, just customized maybe?

Again only guessing, maybe the owner tried to relieve some of the pressure of the lockbar???
Guess I shoulda let the experts lock :o

It's not a fake. How much is 319 euros in US dollars ? This knife would sell for $360-$400 on BF.

If I was buying the same knife I'd think about it here rather than ebay. I don't think much of ebay.

If you do decide to buy on BF be Sure you by from someone with at least 30 trade/sale transactions @ 100%. Buy from someone who been on

BF for at least 1.5 years on BF and has at least 500 posts who's not just buying and selling knives.

There are a few guys from Europe, I'm not sure about Germany, that post on this and other forums that buy and sell CRK's and other knives.

The reason you have never seen it before is likely because that particular space is normally covered up by the clip which is not on this knife obviously.

Reporting a potential counterfeit item or asking the legitimacy of a CRK to them is hardly something they consider a bother. It;s like saying getting a paycheck is a bother.

I'll agree to disagree on this clockman...I haven't been on Bf for 1.5 years yet. I've dealt with plenty of members with 0-300 feedback including yourself. I also am here mostly to buy and sell knives. I use the exchange to try out all kinds of knives and that's what I use BF for 95% of the time with an occasional conversation thrown in.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the feedback rating (unless negative), plenty of awesome members with little to no feedback that have to start somewhere.

There are a few guys from Europe, I'm not sure about Germany, that post on this and other forums that buy and sell CRK's and other knives.

I completely disagree with you here. You once had no feedback, yet someone gave you a chance. By your suggestion here, you should still be trying to get someone to deal with you, and so should I. I skip over the ads that require previous sales before they'll sell to you, and ignore the 2 people who snubbed me when I was new.

I second lone_wolfe.

There is nothing wrong with "just buying and selling knives" thats why we have all the sale forums. There is also nothing wrong with a Global marketplace...it's the 21st century

Agree with LW! Most of us here deal in CRK only (I assume). 30 CRK transactions is a lot!

My first transaction here was a $365 Sebenza. Went perfectly. The seller didn't have a clue who I was until he saw my $$$ in his paypal account.

Sorry I don't agree with you. The only issue I have had was with a member with tons of feedback. Larry

While I haven't sold any knives, I have purchased multiple knives from BF sellers, with no issues, and have yet to receive any feedback. Is that only something that sellers/ gold member receive? I have left feedback, which is way too complicated btw, for all exchanges because I felt it was important.

Thank you all for your time and input. I hate the idea of buying a fake and even supporting that kind of business myself!

I would have mailed it to CRK if I was reasonably sure it was a fake. I guess they get a lot these emails.

319 EUR (incl. free shipping) is about 360 USD. But German customs will not only add a wait up to 4 weeks on the delivery but also about 26% of tax on the whole package (knife+shipping). With 20 USD for shipping I would end up with about 475 USD. That is nearly the price I get a new one from a dealer. So 319 EUR is quite a good price.
My experience from buying here is excellent of course but I must admit I never had a real issue with eBay, too. Done that many times - some say too many :D
There remains a certain thrill I don't really need though...

Thx, Peter

I know it's too late to do anything about it now. I shouldn't have said what I did about buying a knife on BF. I was going to go back to delete

what I said about ten minutes after I posted my comment. Something else came up suddenly that took about 1.25 hours, by that time it was too late to delete.

I'm Sorry. I know I was Wrong about what it said. :o:o

+1 on this. Lone Wolfe was willing to sell me one of her CRK's (I didn't take her up on it because the UG was not for me, but I would still like to buy from her some day. :) ) when I had/still have zero feedback and have only been here a short time. Nonetheless, she was taking a chance on me. I appreciated that and still do.

The criteria you mentioned can sometimes be correct, yet misleading. I have been buying/ selling, using and collecting very high end flashlights since around 2004 and high-end knives since 1998. It can be difficult to decide what criteria to accept or reject when facing a potential high-dollar transaction with someone you don't know. It can be nerve-wracking. I've gotten burned a few times, but overall, I've been fortunate to interact with some very honest, stand-up people here and on another forum (CPF).
